Delia Martinez Farewell
There comes a time in everybody’s life when their career journey comes to a crossroads which ends one path but starts a new one. This intersection comes either by chance or by your own choice and my retirement crossing is now here. I thank God it is by my choice! To say my career journey was gratifying would be an understatement. My years in community development not only opened doors for me but opened my eyes, ears and most of all my heart. I have learned life changing lessons from clients, co-workers, board members and colleagues that no educational institution could have taught me. I am ever so grateful to all of you. Many of you are familiar with the organization from which I am retiring…El Paso Collaborative for Community & Economic Development. The successes are priceless, the community impact is immeasurable and the staff dedication and commitment is profound. The Leadership transition from me to Johanna Guillen (assigned Interim Executive Director) will be seamless as the Collaborative continues to prosper. There are too many people to name individually but my sincere thanks are bestowed first and foremost to my family, friends and to every one of you I have had the pleasure of meeting during my career. Many Blessings to all of you.
